Noel • Subject: Book - Staffordshire in Photographs

Bought you book yesterday from Gallery at 12. - most impressed!
My wife hales from Cheadle, Staffs - I from a little further north.

I know the area well that you have pictured and have, since being able to use up some of my father's war time film during thr late 40s and 50s. going on to take a great interest in photography during my apprenticeship with English Electric in Stafford - continuing to work there for many years until the major change of ownership prompted me to leave both the Company and the area. Up until then, my new wife (married 1963) lived just up Pirehill road on Marlborough Road quite near to your location. Moving away to work for the UK branch of an Italian Company after they separated from Fairchild in the USA, I had to re-locate nearer to their branch office and labs in Aylesbury. Brackley is as far as I wanted to move which is where we still live after many years.

Photography has always remained a significant interest - although I no longer use my Nikon F but have moved to Panasonic G series and TZ cameras.
In order to achieve the results that are reproduced in your book must have taken a considerable amount of time and planning. I much admire the results!!

With best regards,
Charles

Christina • Art Classes
“I began attending Chrissie's pastel art classes a little over a year ago and have loved every minute of them. I've always been interested in and practised various kinds of crafts but never really done what would be called 'art' since I left school, which is many years ago. However, once I'd begun Chrissie's art classes I can now say that I've found exactly what I've been looking for. With Chrissie's experience and excellent tuition I've produced some great pieces of work of which 5 are now framed and displayed at home. I even had the confidence to attempt a personal  pet portrait for my daughter in law's birthday and she was thrilled to bits with it. I can only thank Chrissie for her expertise, encouragement, patience and opening up my eyes to the world of colour. I've also made new friends too. Thank you Chrissie.” Lynn

“With art experience limited to schooldays I apprehensively joined Chrissie's Art Group six years ago with the feeling that I was not good enough. Thinking I would be doing watercolour painting, I was surprised that with Chrissie's help and encouragement I quickly got hooked on pastel painting.
I have now tackled portraits, animals, flowers and landscapes and have far exceeded my expectations. Chrissie is an excellent teacher, inspires confidence, is very calm, patient and non-threatening. Her small classes ensure we all have individual time with her as well as time for a chat with everyone. I find the classes to be stimulating, relaxing, friendly and most of all fun. I would recommend them to anyone.”  Jen
